Amazing phenomenon of black hole discovered millions of light years away from Earth

Astronomers and scientists have managed to discover the amazing phenomenon of a black hole in the galaxy Messier 87, millions of light-years away from Earth.

According to the well-known website Scientech Daily, the material of the galaxy 54 million light-years away from Earth is trillions of times more than the Sun, while the black hole of the galaxy M87 has billions of times more than the same Sun.

The observation from the Global Millimeter BLBI Array (GMVA) was first made in 2018 with a variety of powerful telescopes, including the Greenland Telescope and the Atacama Large Millimeter Telescope.

An observation made 1 year ago today in April 2023 revealed that the black hole at the center of the galaxy emitted a very large amount of extremely bright and luminous material, which astronomers refer to as a jet.

Scientists believe the new observation shows how the base of a jet is attached to matter orbiting a supermassive black hole, helping astronomers understand how black holes can release this kind of energy. How can jets be released?

Shadow of Black Hole

This black hole found in the M87 galaxy has a mass of 6.5 billion times more than the Sun. The new image taken by the telescopes shows the jet emerging near the black hole, which scientists compare to the black hole’s shadow.

Scientists say that when matter orbits a black hole, the black hole’s shadow appears as darkness at the center of the ring. It was first imaged by the Horizon Telescope in 2017. The new image was created by combining data from several radio telescopes around the world.
